Destination weddings: what nobody tells you about load-in

Every destination wedding we have run has had its hardest moment somewhere between the highway and the venue gate.

Access decides your design

Before we draw anything we measure the approach. Truck size limits, gate widths, floor loading, lift dimensions, whether there is a road that closes at sunset. A structure that cannot physically reach the courtyard is not a design, it is a drawing.

Local labour is not optional

Travelling a full crew is expensive and slow. We build a local bench on the recce and travel only the people whose judgement we cannot replace.

Build in a dead day

One clear day between load-in completion and the first function. It feels wasteful in the budget conversation and it saves you every single time.

Assume one thing will not arrive

Something always goes missing in transit. Know in advance which element of your design you can lose without the room falling apart.
