The brief was one colour story carried through a whole day without repeating itself. We opened in white, cream and powder blue: an aisle banked with chrysanthemum, hydrangea and delphinium, chair covers softened with sashes, and floral pillars framing the doorway so the walk in read as a sequence rather than a room.

The register table used the venue’s circular mirror as its own backdrop, dressed low so nothing competed with it. Every detail at eye level — the flower basket, the candle stands, the welcome board on its easel — was finished to the same standard as the large pieces.

For the reception the palette turned. Navy velvet linens, organza sashes and gold pillar candles replaced the daylight scheme, with tall lily and hydrangea centrepieces lifting the sightlines above the seated guests. The long head table was styled as one continuous run of candlelight.

The evening closed outside. We lit the arrival staircase step by step with lanterns, set urn florals on white plinths along the climb, and hung a navy drape as the last frame of the night.
